The Beyond Soccer Series 2015, powered by streetfootballworld, will kick off its first event on June 22, 2015.  The event will be held at the Thomson Reuters HQ in Times Square at the heart of New York City. This specific event will focus on how football can be used as a catalyst, tool, and a medium to address some of the biggest social issues in society. The series is a platform for the most influential leaders in the US soccer industry to convene for an evening of networking and collaboration.

Football is one of the fastest-growing sports in the United States and the series will host up to 200 key people in the industry with professional leagues, clubs, businesses, brands, and media represented. This is a unique opportunity to interact with some of the biggest names in football today.

This exclusive event will feature a series of panels on ways in which football can be used to tackle some of the most challenging issues today and how brands can harness the sport’s potential. The panel interviews will highlight some of the most important players in the game including, Don Garber, Commissioner, Major League Soccer (MLS), Patrick Gaston, President, Western Union Foundation, and Caryl Stern, President and CEO, U.S. Fund for UNICEF. Among others, the event will highlight Western Union’s PASS initiative, which turns every successful pass during the UEFA Europa League into support for access to quality education worldwide.

Don Garber reflects on the Beyond Soccer Series stating: “Major League Soccer is committed to supporting communities across the United States and Canada. We want to use the world’s game to make a difference on a local level and we are proud of the philanthropic contributions of our clubs, fans, league office and corporate partners. Through our Don’t Cross the Line campaign, which is a major component of our MLS WORKS league-wide philanthropy efforts, we are leveraging our players to promote diversity and inclusion at all levels of the sport.”

This is the fifth time streetfootballworld has teamed up with Beyond Sport to host Beyond Soccer events with previous editions in Cape Town (2011), London (2012), Philadelphia (2013), and New York City (2014).
