Since its inception, football3 has proven to be an effective methodology in the use of football for social inclusion and development. In recent years, there has been a concerted effort to promote and disseminate this methodology through numerous football3 programmes, the hosting of football3 festivals, the development of a multi-lingual, freely accessible handbook and, through the ‘football3 for respect' project, the creation of a Training-of-Trainers toolkit that allows organisations to systematically train people in the delivery and mediation of football3 programmes.

Based upon a need identified by organisations using football3 in their programmes with children and young people, the methodology is to be scaled further through the creation of a mobile training course. This resource forms part of the football3 training curriculum that is being developed as part of the ‘football3 for all’ project and will also offer participants in-person training at one of 6 partner organisations. football3 for all kicked off in January 2019 and will continue until January 2022 with funding through the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission.

The mobile course is a free online resource that can be accessed by downloading an app to your smartphone or via your computer desktop. It includes course materials like filmed content and reading materials, as well as interactive features such as quizzes, games and user forums aimed at supporting interactions amongst participants. The football3 for all mobile training course will build on the content and modules created in a Training-of-Trainers toolkit and will adapt this content for a digital format.

The mobile course will be self-sustaining and allow individual learners who may not have the opportunity to attend face-to-face training at one of the certified organisations to nonetheless gain the skills to implement football3 programming in their local contexts, hence enabling their participants to further promote the key values and rights embedded within football3, including inclusion, equality, tolerance, respect, and peace.

All those interested can sign up for the mobile coures and learn how to be a football3 mediator, a football3 trainer and/or a football3 manager in theory and practice. The theoretical knowledge is acquired by completing the mobile course, while the practical experience will be gained by taking part in an in-person training at one of the certified football3 partner organisations.

Following the successful completion of the mobile course (basic level) on its own or together with in-person training (advanced level), participants will be awarded certification of their qualification.

The mobile course will be developed and available for use by April 2021 and will be accessible from this page.
