Zum ersten Mal kamen herausragende Experten und wichtige Akteure aus dem Bereich Entwicklung durch Fußball zusammen, um über die Zukunft dieses Sektors zu diskutieren.  Im Rahmen des FIFA Konföderationen-Pokals 2009 in Südafrika kamen Vertreter von streetfootballworld Netzwerkmitgliedern und Organisationen, die sich bei Football for Hope engagieren, sowie ausgewählte Experten aus Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft zusammen, um drei Tage lang miteinander zu diskutieren und zu arbeiten. 

Das Football for Hope Forum 2009 war ein großer Meilenstein für streetfootballworld und Football for Hope. Das positive Feedback der Teilnehmer zeigt, wie wichtig diese Art der Veranstaltung für die zukünftige Entwicklung dieses Arbeitsbereiches ist.
