All five streetfootballworld network members in Kenya-Moving the Goalposts, Society Empowerment Project, KESOFO, VAP and MYSA-came together in Nairobi to explore opportunities for collaboration and strengthen the regional network.

The meeting followed a three-day session on communication and marketing, which itself was the second event in a wider collaboration by streetfootballworld, streetfootballworld network members and the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) that is geared toward capacity development and the expansion of existing programmes.

The first training session, which focused on fundraising, was held in May. The initiative is part of the GTZ-funded Youth Development through Football (YDF) programme.

Regional development
Thomas Weidner, streetfootballworld network Development Manager and Festus Juma, Director of SEP and Local Coordinator of the YDF, facilitated discussions on next steps in the region.

Representatives from GTZ Kenya joined the event in an effort to help streetfootballworld network members forge closer bonds with government instituations.

Getting on the pitch
The entire group was treated to a tour of the recently opened Mathare Football for Hope Centre, hosted by streetfootballworld network member MYSA. And since no visit would be complete without a bit of football, MYSA staff joined the delegates for a friendly match.
