German Street Football Network member RheinFlanke gGmbH has won the German Football Association’s Integration Award in the category of Special Project.

RheinFlanke works on a variety of projects that promote tolerance and the social integration of disadvantaged children and young people. Its köln kickt! programme, which focuses on integration through street football, united street football teams across Cologne into a league in 2007 and established a girls’ street football league as well.

RheinFlanke’s projects also include a programme addressing unemployment amongst young people and training for young people to learn conflict resolution, tolerance and positive behaviour through football.
