The World Vision report enlightened viewers on streetfootballworld network member Moving the Goalposts Kilifi (MTGK) in its weekly radio show on June 20th. Recorded in the Kilifi district in Kenya, the piece includes interviews with coaches and participants from MTGK’s programme.

The seven-minute long radio piece is accompanied by an informative article outlining the struggles young girls face growing up in the poor Kenyan district. World Vision report journalist Emily Wong visited MTGK in Kilifi and witnessed firsthand the work of this Development through Football programme, noting:

“Moving the Goalposts, the soccer and development charity featured in my report, uses a very unconventional way of tackling issues of discrimination against girls. By training girls to excel in football--traditionally a male sport--and to develop leadership skills, it strives to change the way rural communities in Kilifi think about girls and value them”.
