Jan 262011 | New streetfootballworld Network Board takes the reins

On January 20-21, 2011, the old and new boards came together to hand over affairs and discuss the strategic planning for the network and capacity development in 2011.

During the two-day meeting and in various informal sessions, constructive discussions on topics such as membership development, M&E and the streetfootballworld identity took place in an open and co-operative atmosphere at the streetfootballworld office in Berlin.

First democratically elected board
It is the first time in the history of streetfootballworld that the Network Board has been democratically elected at the General Assembly in 2010. The mandate of the streetfootballworld network empowers the five representatives to take the lead in the further development of the global network.

The new Network Board will be actively involved in processes and projects at streetfootballworld. Supporting the teams around the world with their expertise, the board members will serve as a direct link to the network members.

Valued service
Representatives from streetfootballworld network members Street League and Mundo Afro have been re-elected into the network board. Vladimir Borković, streetfootballworld network director, used the joint meeting to thank former board members Tami Hay from Peres Center for Peace and Peter Karanja from MYSA for their commitment and their work on the board in the last years.

More involvement - more visibility

As the voice of the network, the new board will also play a major role in the promotion of the global network. Being involved in the strategic planning is an important aspect of the board members’ future work; it equally important that these representatives are accessible for the streetfootballworld network and external partners alike.
