streetfootballworld network member Mifalot’s parent organisation, Hapoel Tel Aviv, has become the fourth club to sign up to the Scort Foundation’s “Football Clubs for Development and Peace” partnership programme.
Hapoel Tel Aviv and its affiliated social organisation Mifalot will actively work with Scort on its projects, which look to engage children and young people worldwide in difficult personal circumstances. It joins FC Basel, Werder Bremen and Bayer 04 Leverkusen as the latest top-flight football team to cooperate with Scort.
President of the Scort Foundation and FC Basel, Gigi Oeri, welcomed the collaboration of Hapoel Tel Aviv and Mifalot, saying “To find strong new partners is important in advancing and strengthening the work of Scort. The social commitment of Mifalot in football and development is significant."
Executive Director of Scort, Marc-André Buchwalder, said, “This cooperation with the social arm [of Hapoel Tel Aviv] will enrich our projects and will certainly be a huge support to us.”
Expansion through partnership
Mifalot, which was founded by Hapoel Tel Aviv in 1997, already reaches 20,000 disadvantaged children in Israel, Jordan and the Palestinian Territories through its programmes. Now, with the help of Scort, Mifalot is looking to increase its international involvement.
Chairman of Mifalot, Avrum Burg, believes in cooperation and is convinced that inspirational partnerships are the foundation of successful work.
“We know that it’s not possible to do everything alone; it’s always about partnerships, and furthermore to share the knowledge, motivation, experience and good spirit one possesses,” he said.
