streetfootballworld and ten young people from the German Street Football Network were invited to mingle with nine hundred of Germany’s most prominent politicians, journalists, economists, entertainers and artists during this year’s annual Nacht der Süddeutschen Zeitung, a gala event held by the Süddeutsche Zeitung, a major German newspaper. streetfootballworld was the evening’s featured organisation. streetfootballworld Managing Director Jürgen Griesbeck joined two young representatives of the German Street Football Network onstage to present the work of both organisations to the crowd, which included German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Captivated by the stories of Precious from Hamburger Sportjugend and Mustafa of KICKFAIR, who explained the role football plays in helping them and their peers overcome social challenges, many members of the audience took advantage of the introduction to donate to streetfootballworld. “It’s an honour to be the featured organisation of the Nacht der Süddeutschen Zeitung,” said Mr. Griesbeck. “We hope to have inspired some of the most important individuals in the country with the power of football for social change.” |
Young people from across Germany joined streetfootballworld at the event.
