In its second year, the Beyond Sports Awards recognise and reward the best sport and development projects from around the world. The 12 categories of recognition cover health, social inclusion, corporate and social responsibility, and philanthropy and are split into three section: Community Awards, Corporation and Federation Awards, and Judges’ Awards. The winners of the six Community Awards will each receive a minimum of £10,000 as well as substantial business support to enable them to move forward and become fully sustainable. Winners are selected by the Beyond Sport Ambassadors. The group is chaired by former British Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Tony Blair and also includes HRH Prince Faisal Al Hussein, former South African football captain Lucas Radebe, and multi-Olympic gold medalists Michael Johnson and Sergey Bubka. Deadline A shortlist of projects will be revealed in May, with representatives from each initiative flown to Chicago for the second annual Beyond Sport Summit September 27-30. Beyond Sport and the streetfootballworld network Beyond Sport promotes, develops and funds the use of sport to create positive social change.
