Jun 72010 | ‘Fußballdeutschland’: German Street Football Network project to premiere in Berlin

‘Fußballdeutschland: Kulturelle Vielfalt und Bereicherung’ (Football Germany: Cultural Diversity and Enrichment) will be premiered at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) in Berlin.

The exhibition features films, photographs, paintings and songs developed by young participants of the eight German organisations that make up the German Street Football Network.

The multimedia exhibit offers insight into the connection between football and intercultural dialogue, as well as a glimpse into the daily lives of young Germans. The young artists from disadvantaged backgrounds benefited from the help of experts from a range of background to develop their ideas.

The German Football for Hope Festival 2010 delegation will also be on hand to greet the crowd before the team travels to represent the nation at the festival in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Football on the roof
A Sony football tournament will be held on the famed building’s roof terrace, with the football pitch remaining in place for the duration of the World Cup. Several matches and tournaments will be organised by streetfootballworld partners and the HKW.

The HKW’s cultural programme includes public viewing of all World Cup matches.
