Sport as a Mediator between Cultures

In September ICSSPE’s international conference, Sport as a Mediator between Cultures, will look at the achievements and future activities planned in the area of sport for development and peace.

Held in a region which is familiar with political, social and ethno-religious conflicts, participants will learn and discuss how sport can help to create mutual understanding between cultures and to promote conflict resolution.

The event will take place from 15-17 September 2011, with pre-conference workshops from 13-14 September. Topics include:

- The potential of sport in development and conflict settings
- The benefits to be achieved through intercultural cooperation in sport
- Developing project structures that facilitate and link development initiatives with existing societal structures.

streetfootballworld network members The Peres Center for Peace, Al Quds Assosciation and KICKFAIR will present their internatinal learning cooperation, and Mifalot will give an introduction to its programmes at the conference.
