On December 1st and 2nd, South American streetfootballworld network members will hold a meeting in Montevideo, Uruguay during which members will discuss the region’s contributions to the global network and other issues. streetfootballworld network member Mundo Afro in Uruguay will host the meeting.

The need to hold this network event with the aim of further promoting dialogue among organisations became clear after the South American Football for Hope Festival in Santiago, Chile in December 2008, where many of the South American members gathered. This event will help to strengthen the region's participation in the global movement and will effectively contribute to the strengthening of the overall streetfootballworld network.

The meeting’s objectives are exchange, institutional strengthening and improved synergy among the member organisations in the region, as well as promoting dissemination of information in order to increase the organisations’ visibility in the region while taking advantage of the next milestones in world of football and the streetfootballworld network: the World Cups in South Africa in 2010 and Brazil in 2014.
