PASCH tournament in the Middle East

streetfootballworld network members, the Peres Center for Peace in Israel and the Al Quds Association for Democracy and Dialogue in the Palestinian Territories, jointly organise the fourth PASCH Tournament.

The two organisations have a long history of successfully working together: as part of their “Twinned Peace Sport Schools” programme, they bring together Palestinian and Israeli children between the ages of 6 and 15 years for joint football training and peace-building activities.

At the PASCH Tournament taking place on March 17-18th at the Wingate Institute in Netanya, selected young people from both organisations will meet up with pupils taking German language courses at PASCH partner schools in Ramla, Bait Jala, East Jerusalem, and Bethlehem as part of the “Schools: Partners for the Future” initiative of the German Federal Foreign Office.

To encourage understanding and foster an exchange of ideas between the players, the teams will be completely mixed.  Each team will be comprised of seven players with at least one representative from the Peres Center and one from Al Quds, as well as an Israeli PASCH pupil and a Palestinian PASCH pupil.  The games will be played according to football3 rules with mixed-gender teams and no referees.

The project is supported by the German Federal Foreign Office under the “Sport and Foreign Policy” initiative.
