streetfootballworld network member KICKFAIR is playing host to an international football and learning festival, which will take place between 30 June and 2 July in the heart of Stuttgart.
The programme for the three day event will showcase KICKFAIR's work. Above all it is a festival for young people involved in the KICKFORMORE and "Football connects" projects, who often come from immigrant families or families with socially disadvantaged backgrounds.
Through the KICKFORMORE and "Football connects" projects they learn important skills, which help them to develop a positive perspective on life.
Young people from KICKFAIR partner organisations in Rwanda, India, Cambodia, South Africa, Chile and Cameroon have also been invited to the festival. Amongst them will be streetfootballworld network members Spirit of Soccer, The Peres Center for Peace and Al Quds, Espérance, Amandla EduFootball, United Action for Children and Chigol.
The festival is the high point of intercultural and global cooperation in various projects.
"Football connects"
A public cultural-political meeting with an open discussion about the current project, "With a ball through life", is due to take place on 30 June in Stuttgart Theatre.
Festival participants from all over the world will present the results of joint global learning projects, and biographies of women around the world in whose lives football has played an important role will be presented from the learning material for the Women's World Cup.
More information about the media kit for "With a ball through life" can be found here
KICKFORMORE - the tournament
On the second day, football will be at the centre of attention.
Under the auspices of the former boxing pro Axel Schulz the young people will battle for victory according to football3 rules. That means mixed teams, no referee and Fair Play points count just as much as points and goals.
A reading by authors is planned for the conclusion of the festival.
