Football for Hope – Centre Host Workshop in Addis Ababa

Hosts from the 20 Football for Hope Centres will come together for a three-day Centre Host workshop in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from November 20th-22nd. The workshop will focus on sustainability, centre programmes and operations, and monitoring and evaluation strategies.

20 Centres for 2010, the official campaign of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, is an ongoing project that seeks to achieve positive social change in public health and education services for young people. Since the project was introduced in 2010, six centres have opened in South Africa, Mali, Kenya, Lesotho, Namibia, and Ghana. The remaining fourteen centres are currently under development and will be completed by 2013.

An opportunity for discussion
The host organisations of each Football for Hope Centre will come together in Ethiopia for the Centre Host Workshop at the end of November. Organised by streetfootballworld, the workshop will be co-hosted by streetfootballworld network member Sport – the Bridge, the centre host in Addis Ababa.

Over the three days, centre hosts will have the chance to interact and share knowledge with one another, ensuring that each centre has the means to achieve its goals for positive social change. Topics to be discussed will include income generating activities and fundraising strategies, proposal writing, programming and centre operations, child protection, and monitoring and evaluation concepts.
