Brussels Next Steps Workshop - Networking and sustainable engagement event

Sixteen representatives from streetfootballworld network members based in Europe, four young leaders, representatives from EU institutions, NGOs, foundations and other stakeholders will come together in Brussels from November 12 -14 to present and discuss approaches towards education through football. There will be an additional focus on the opportunities offered to network members by the different EU institutions.

The participants will meet with representatives of the European Commission to discuss the latest sport, employment, youth, or development policies. MEP Doris Pack, Chairperson of the European Parliament Committee on Education and Culture and the Representation of the Free State of Bavaria to the EU will host a reception for streetfootballworld and the network members, which will provide them with an opportunity to present their work and concrete initiatives to a selected audience of Brussels stakeholders.

The event will feature testimonials from committed young leaders as well as best practice examples on social inclusion and support for young people not in education employment or training. Finally, there will also be insights from the perspective of an EU expert on how to engage with partners within the EU context.

Playing the EU game
The meeting seeks to increase the visibility of streetfootballworld network members and their work at an EU level, present education through football approaches within EU institutions and towards relevant stakeholders in Brussels and assist network members in developing their own EU skills, for example with regard to funding programmes.
