Organisational structure

Initiated as a project of streetfootballworld gGmbH, the structure and functionality of the streetfootballworld Network are officially laid out in the Network Statutes, operative since December 2007. The activities of the Network are guided by the General Assembly, the Network Board and the Network Management Team. streetfootballworld gGmbH is the responsible legal body of the Network.

General Assembly – the Basis of the Network

The General Assembly takes place in a two year cycle in order to discuss the strategic direction of the Network proposed by the Network Board and to review and approve the reports of the Network Management Team. In addition, the General Assembly elects the Network’s representatives onto the Network Board.

Network Board – the Representatives of the Network

The Network Board is made up of representatives of 5 Network Members, the Network Director and the Managing Director of streetfootballworld gGmbH. It is elected every two years by the General Assembly. The Network Board develops the strategic direction of the Network and advises the Network Management Team in all important decisions.

The following Members make up the Network Board:

Mathare Youth Sports Association, Kenya
Peres Center for Peace, Israel/Palestine
Street League, UK
Mundo Afro, Uruguay
streetfootballworld gGmbH

Network Management Team – the Network’s Engine

The Network Management Team is the operative arm and engine of the Network. With around eight staff members, the team coordinates the network’s daily processes. Along with streetfootballworld’s head office in Berlin, Regional Coordinators represent the Network in the world’s various regions. Regional Coordinators are at the same time often representatives of a Network Member and are therefore able to utilise their local expertise for the Network’s regional development.

South America and Southern Africa are currently the first regions with Regional Coordinators. Both were selected due to the high number of network members in each region and the thematic focus set by the Network. In the future, Regional Coordinators are to be involved world-wide to ensure global coverage of the Network at a regional level. On the streetfootballworld Team page you can learn more about the Network Management Team.

A detailed description of the individual organs of the Network and their functionality can be found in the Statutes and By-Laws of the Network:
