As members of streetfootballworld, the Peres Center for Peace and the Al Quds Association for Democracy and Dialogue organized the 4th PASCH tournament at Wingate, Netanya, Israel on the 17th and 18th of March.Selected youngsters from the Twinned Peace Football Schools met pupils taking German language courses at PASCH (partner schools) in Ramla, Bait Jala, East Jerusalem, and Bethlehem as part of the “Schools: Partners for the Future” initiative of the German Federal Foreign Office.
To encourage understanding and foster an exchange of ideas between the players, each team of 7 was mixed with at least 1 representative from the Peres Center and one from Al Quds, as well as an Israeli and a Palestinian PASCH pupil.
The games were played according to football3 fairplay rules with mixed- gender teams and no referees. Coaches and apprentice coaches acted as mediators, and each match was commenced and concluded with explanations of the fair play scorings, giving the young players a chance for reflection about their interactions with each other.
After much excitement and anticipation, Team Frankfurt took it home! The 7 winning teammates will meet again this summer, where they will participate in the PASCH tournament in Berlin
