Coaches Training for Soccer Coaches and Players by HWC Foundation
|
As a part of its ongoing endeavor to take the game of football to the masses along with its associated benefits, Homeless World Cup Foundation and Krida Vikas Sanstha will be delivering the coaches training to Slum Soccer coaches and players under the Football Plus Program. The Football Plus Programme has been designed to support Homeless World Cup Foundation Partners around the world to engage Slum dwelling youth, disadvantaged people in life changing street soccer programmes. These programmes build confidence, leadership skills, self esteem and provide access to social services, education, and job opportunities. The results will be a widening pool of people coming off the streets, reintegrating into society, finding jobs, and becoming role models, trainers and mentors, at local and international levels. Under this program top quality training in coaching, refereeing, mentoring will be given to grassroots coaches and trainers along with football equipment. Support from the Homeless World Cup Foundation in programme development, coaching, fundraising and management will also be given in order to sustain the program. Football Plus includes a practically based course, offering the opportunity to “learn by doing” and includes training around: · the roles and responsibilities of a community soccer coach · planning and evaluation of sessions · the rules and roll out of street soccer leagues · soccer skills coaching · the different ways in which people learn The participants will have the opportunity to put their learning into practice by running a streetsoccer festival for 120 children and delivering a two day training course to 80 community coaches, while being mentored by Homeless World Cup Foundation trainers and KVSN staff. The ultimate aim of the Football Plus programme is to create a sustainable legacy of hope and change for homeless communities across the world and push the boundaries of what sport can achieve for those at the bottom of the ladder – we look forward to this starting in Nagpur, India.
