The name says it all. Coaching for Hope (CFH) is a programme run by the UK-based organisation Skillshare International with the mission to educate and empower children in the developing world through football. Its main work focuses on raising HIV/AIDS awareness by training coaches in these high risk areas, thereby empowering youths to make and take healthy decisions about their future. Coaching for Hope has also been engaged in work specifically around inclusion and rights for disabled people through sport, using a coach based model. Coaching for Hope expands the capacity of local coaches and youth workers to deliver football and HIV/Aids education.

Through partnership with the FA, adidas and a number of English Football League Clubs, Coaching for Hope provides grass-roots coaches a variety of curriculum pathways using our highly acclaimed curriculum.  With 3 levels of coaching qualifications we combine quality football coaching with a social curriculum based on HIV/AIDS prevention, substance misuse education and disability inclusion.  We have also run women only courses with coaches from the England Women's team to encourage more women to get involved in coaching girls.  To date we have coached over 700 grass-roots coaches who have worked with over 30,000 children and young people.  CFH has been asked to run courses for UNICEF, the Peace Corps and the Craig Bellamy Academy in Sierra Leone using our senior African coaches.Our goal is to add value to local partners to enable them to use football in their work with vulnerable youth and our approach is collaborative.
