Mundo Afro uses football, and in particular the methodology „Fútbol Callejero“ (Street Football), as a means to promote strategies for peaceful conflict resolution amongst the participants and their families. “Fútbol Callejero” aims at tapping into the full potential of football by applying special rules to the game that convey certain aspects of society and the community. As well as football, Mundo Afro offers various cultural activities and programmes on topics such as human rights and health. The organisation is a member of the network „Red Sudamericana de Fútbol Callejero“ and is currently establishing a national street football network in Uruguay.
