|
The First Football Forum Theatre event organized by ESPERACE and the partner's organizations for both ESPERANCE and WELTWAERTS took place on the football pitch of Mburabuturo primary school at Gikondo in Kigali City. In order to share the experiences and to make sure that ESPERANCE reach a big number of its target group, ESPERANCE organizes Football Forum Theatre tournaments together with 17 organizations partners of Waltwaerts, the German development volunteers' service. As two of volunteers are working for ESPERANCE, the aim of sharing the experinces is to spread the methodology of using Football Forum Theatre as a tool and medium for teaching the Rwandese people how to recognise and resolve conflicts and other problems in the society. A training of three days was held by ESPERANCE for one volunteer and one tutor from each organisation. During the training, the participants learnt about the Football Forum Theatre and planned the tournaments. The FAV organisation (Front pour l'Action aux Vulnérables au Rwanda) organised the opening event of the project, Wednesday 30th December 2009. Six teams participated and about 100 spectators attended the event. Every organisation chose the theme for Football Forum Theatre according to the big problem in their place. For FAV Rwanda, the theme was stigmatization and discrimination of children living with HIV and street children and the gender balance. The children from the FAV RWanda center played the Forum Theatre and according to the feedback from the spectators, the actors of the Forum Theatre have been best and expressed well the problems and the solutions. This weekend, on 16th January 2010, Vision Jeunesse Nouvelle and Laprimise School both from Rubavu In north-west of Rwanda have organized the Second event of Football Forum Theatre.
