Escuela de Deportes Alumni works in disadvantaged neighbourhoods of Jujuy Province in north-western Argentina. It aims at promoting the well-being, integration and participation of the community and organises artistic activities, football events, as well as after-school educational support. During summer, several art workshops and holiday camps are offered to participants.
In 2004, Alumni adopted the “Fútbol Callejero” methodology as a means for social transformation. This methodology aims at tapping the full potential of football by applying special rules to the game that convey certain social and community aspects. Alumni forms part of the Argentinean “Liga Nacional de Fútbol Callejera” (National Street Football League) and is responsible for the promotion of the League in the country’s northern provinces.
