Organised in a national league, 3,000 youths in Argentina play “Fútbol Callejero” (Street Football). The methodology aims at tapping into the full potential of football by applying special rules to the game which relate to certain social and community based-issues. Apart from sporting activities and leadership training, the institution also organises workshops on health issues and implements various activities in their own cultural centre. Through cooperation with schools, community centres and other institutions, Defensores del Chaco also provides volunteer and job opportunities for their participants.
