Africaid’s WhizzKids United has won the Global Sports Forum award in Barcelona for best Sport and Health programme!
It was shortlisted in the Sport and Health Category alongside three
other organisations, covering programmes in nine countries across Sub
Saharan Africa. In total eight awards were given out, looking at a
range of areas from Sport and health, to education and philanthropy and
co-operation through sports. The awards from the centre piece of three
days of talks and presentations shared across a range of organisations
and sectors.
Marcus McGilvray CEO of Africaid was delighted to win the award “We are
delighted to win this award as recognition of our programme. This is a
testament to the hard work that has been put in across the
organisation, from our trainers in the field, to our dedicated office
staff. We hope that this award will help us spread the word of our
programme, and also give us a chance to network with like minded
organisations to share best practice in the field.”
The Global Sports Forum
is officially supported by the City of Barcelona, and is an exchange
platform attracting a wide range of personalities from the world of
sport. Thanks to its unique emphasis on the position of sport at the
heart of modern society, the Forum is a place where people come
together and debate issues, the aim being to highlight sport in all its
dimensions: economic, social, political and cultural.
