Since 2006, Rheinflanke has been active in the Rhineland area. The organisation is a social service provider with the mission to create long-term and sustainable social projects for disadvantaged young people, particularly those with migration backgrounds.

Rheinflanke actively supports young people in their personal development to become responsible citizens in their society. Its main project, “köln kickt” links street football activities to educational opportunities.

Football activities provide an easy entry point for participants to get engaged in the programmes. In special workshops Rheinflanke provides educational opportunities with a focus on employability and offers a space where young people can discuss important social issues such as intolerance, racism and other types of discrimination. The organisation also guides participants in their searches for employment and initiates contacts with potential employers.
