In the month of August 2011, SEP has organized for its third Annual Soccer Tournament and Educational Camp. This year, the event will focus mainly on two thematic areas; Constitution implementation and Health education. The is held every month of August at Kotieno Primary School Grounds, Oyugis. The origin of this event was as a result of needs assessment conducted by SEP members in 2008, and coming up with a conclusion that the Community around Oyugis region has very limited opportunities of access to information, hence SEP approach of reaching out to the community through its thematic football events. Football in this case is used as the platform, a tool of mobilization to gather the communities hence disseminate information, thus its theme “Community Empowerment through Football.” As a result of educational aspect of the event, every year the Organizing Committee for the event sets relevant topic on which the information should be focused, read more....

DOWNLOAD DOCUMENTSEP REPLICATES PREMIER SKILLS COACHING COURSE IN OYUGIS REGION.
Premier Skills is an initiative of the British Council and Premier League in England, focusing on Football Coaching. The course emphasizes on the use of Football to develop leadership skills, communication skills s well as “fun” soccer coaching sessions. Premier Skills can be used to train all players in different age categories, ranging from under six years old to senior teams – above 18 years old players.
The training attracted different sports based organizations within the Province, with some participants coming as far as Kisumu. It comprised of homogeneous age limits for both boys and girls. The age was set such that any body undergoing the workshop would have the ability to replicate the skills back in her/his community, through their respective organizations. The age limit was therefore set t be above 16 in age, for all participants. (These were trained as coaches, so they could also train more people in their community, and also help in training sessions in their various organizations / football clubs).

SEP - Kenya M&E Guide 2009
Monitoring and Evaluation are management tools but are different in nature and happen at different stages in the project cycle. A monitoring system can be defined as an observation system for the project to verify whether the project activities are happening according to planning and whether means are used in a correct and efficient manner.
Monitoring is a continuous data collection analysis process which is implemented to asses a project and compare it with the expected performance.
Evaluation tries to describe the changes in life and well being of the final users. In best case, one tries to compare the situation ex-ante and ex-post and analyzes the positive or / negative evolutions.
The M&E guide attached herein will help SEP estimate the impact of its programmes on the community after a period of one year, 2009.
SEP's Equal Opportunity to Girl child.
SEP in the use of football for development has included girl child in all its activities, beyond football. The girls also are actively involved in Agricultural activities, both horticulture and Livestock. They also take on active roles of finding correct measurement for hole drilling for bananas plantation.
Girls have the potential, and through Football, SEP is determined to develop these potentials into full use. This in the long run will directly help the girls and wider community to find a sustainable way for food security, as well as source of income, thus poverty alleviation.
SEP Girls' Football Team; Gender Equality & Equity.
SEP has successfully introduced Girls' Soccer Team in the region, Oyugis. We in SEP take pride in the fact that this is the only girls' soccer team with focus and reliability in the entire region, actually Rachuonyo District!
The significant of this team to the wider community is the use of Football for gender equality and Equity. SEP offers an equal opportunity to girl child in all its programmes.
This undertaking has since changed the perception of the community of associating football with boys, when and girls are only seen as domestic source of "cheap" labour! Every one today understands that girls too have talents in foot ball that needs to be developed.
The partnership of SEP and the Streetfootballworld is a driving force towards this achievement, not forgetting that unfailing encouragement from our Kenya Partner, MYSA. (MYSA provides a practical encouragement, a situation where girls, dribble, head and score with high discipline in the field). We as part of the Football For Hope are determined to uphold this spirit.
