Empowering girls and women

All around the world, girls and women face discrimination, gender-based violence, limited education and economic dependence. Girls grow up without the self-confidence and knowledge they need to take charge of their own lives, and often without even the opportunity to play.

Football is one way to begin changing the role of young women. By getting girls on the pitch, streetfootballworld network members help them challenge societal norms and make their mark not only on their own lives, but in their communities as well.
