Programme support

The goal of Football for Hope Programme Support is to enhance the work of organisations promoting Development through Football on a sustainable basis.  Currently, 39 organisations worldwide receive financial support from Football for Hope.

Football for Hope Programme Support values projects which are relevant to the overall strategy of the applying organisation, in particular those projects which represent a major step forward in the organisation's development.  Programme support aims to avoid creating financial or other dependence on the funding body. Funding is granted following evaluation and recommendation by the Football for Hope team, which consists of FIFA and streetfootballworld staff members.

1. Al Quds Foundation – Israel
Project: The Palestinian-Israeli “Twinned Peace Football Schools” programme
Support for 60 Palestinian participants in Israeli-Palestinian twin schools programme (football, education, peacebuilding)

2. Asociación Civil Andar – Argentina
Project: Liga de Fútbol Especial
Development of football activities and a league for people with intellectual disabilities

3. Asociación Civil Pro Niño Intimo/Escuelas Deporte y Vida - Peru
Project: National street football network: constructing a neighbourhood through football for inclusion, development and citizenship in Peru
Creation of a national street football network in Peru and active participation in the network “Red Sudamericana de Fútbol Callejero”

4. Association pour la Promotion de la Jeune Fille et de la Femme (AMPJF) - Mali
 Project: Festival of Football and Culture
Women’s football tournament in which teams from across Mali come together for four days to develop bonds through sporting and cultural exchange

5. Breakthrough Sports Academy – Zambia
Project: Zambia Street Football Network
Creation of a national Zambian street football network, in partnership with other NGOs

6. Capital Area Soccer League (CASL) – Kenya
Project: Grassroot Soccer HIV/AIDS Protection and Prevention
HIV/AIDS prevention project in 6 areas in Nairobi, using the Grassroot Soccer curriculum

Promotion of the "Fútbol Callejero" (street football) methodology in Paraguay and strengthening of the Paraguayan street football network

Project: Edu-Sport program on prevention Of HIV/AIDS, drug, alcohol and substance abuse for youth in Iringa/Tanzania, East Africa
Establishment of 80 football teams for out-of-school youth, where the coach is trained as a health educator and players are trained as peer educators.

Support for a programme that provides skills development in the delivery of HIV/AIDS education and football coaching for volunteer community sports leaders as well as the coordination of community football leagues and competitions

Project: KICKFORMORE: football for tolerance league
Strengthening Kickfair's main programme ("Kick for more" league), including a focus on building up the "Young Leadership Committee"

25. Mathare Youth Sports Association (MYSA) – Kenya

Decentralisation of MYSA's work, an increase of number of tournaments and creation of a MYSA archive and database

Project: Whizzkids United
Support for the school-based peer education programme and a new youth counselling centre both aimed at making young people more aware about HIV/AIDS
