From its founding in 2002 to the development of a global network encompassing over 70 organisations worldwide, streetfootballworld has consistently been at the forefront of the field of Development through Football.

Below are some of the most significant milestones on this rapid journey.

May 2008 FOCA 08, the first European Street Football Festival takes places in Foca, Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Nov 2007 The second “Encuentro Sudamericano de Fútbol Callejero” (South American Street Football Encounter), organised by the “Red Sudamericana de Fútbol Callejero”, is held in Asunción, Paraguay

Nov 2007 Re-launch of the internet platform www.streetfootballworld.org, especially improving the visibility of streetfootballworld network members

Sep 2007 Network members are invited to apply for funding within the second Football for Hope Call for Proposals

Jun 2007 Kick-off of EUROSCHOOLS 2008, the official schools project to mark the UEFA EURO 2008 in Austria, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein

Apr 2007 $US 900,000 is distributed among 25 streetfootballworld network members following the first Football for Hope Call for Proposals

Nov 2004 World Cup Schools – Fair Play for Fair Life kicks off in 204 schools across Germany, linking football and global learning

Sep 2004 streetfootballworld becomes a non-profit limited company, based in Berlin, Germany
