EUROSCHOOLS CUPS in Austria and Switzerland  /  Social Event

In the framework of EUROSCHOOLS 2008, 200 schools will play for the title of European Champion

From June 2nd to 25th 2008, eight EUROSCHOOLS CUPS will take place in Austria and Switzerland. Within the framework of the official school project accompanying the UEFA EURO 2008™, girls and boys are playing to qualify for the international Final.

EUROSCHOOLS CUPS in Austria and Switzerland
The EUROSCHOOLS CUPS will take place in eight different cities in Austria and Switzerland. One EURO School per UEFA nation will qualify for the international Final in Innsbruck. June 28th 2008 is the big day: pupils from 53 schools will play for the title of European Champion. During the EUROSCHOOLS CUPS the young footballers will present their project work on “their” country in a colourful pitch-side programme.


EUROSCHOOLS 2008
A large number of schools in Switzerland, Austria and Liechtenstein are actively preparing themselves for their role as hosts of the UEFA EURO 2008™ through their participation in the project EUROSCHOOLS 2008. International understanding, tolerance and fair play are at the centre of this exciting project.

Pupils assume the role of ambassadors for one of the 53 countries represented in UEFA, address aspects of intercultural dialogue and play in mixed-gender teams according to fair play rules for the title of European Champion. Using football as a tool for learning, EUROSCHOOLS 2008 is offering a year full of exciting exchanges and experiences for thousands of young football enthusiasts.

20. – 22.06.2008 EUROSCHOOLS CUP in Zurich, Switzerland
23. – 25.06.2008 EUROSCHOOLS CUP in Basel, Switzerland
26. – 29.06.2008 Final in Innsbruck, Austria


streetfootballworld is responsible for the overall coordination of EUROSCHOOLS 2008. The Swiss Academy for Development (SAD) is coordinating the project in Switerland and Liechtenstein, while in Austia the Vienna Institute for Development and Cooperation (vidc) is responsible for coordination.
